Youth athletes will have the opportunity to apply skills and fundamentals to the game. This is an appropriate physical contact league that gives athletes a taste of what it will be like at the next level. Through this league, young participants will learn more than the physical aspects of the game, but also the mental part. Join our league today to get started!

Divisions
- Please contact your local Recreation Center
- Only Minneapolis teams are eligible for tackle football league
- 80% of team members must live within Minneapolis city limits
MPRB Third Grade League Rules
Third Grade Rules:
- Game = 56 Plays (14 plays = one quarter)
- Scoring
- Touchdown = 6 points
- Extra Points (1) = 3-yard line
- -Run or pass
- Extra Points (2) = 5-yard line
- -Run or pass
- Playing field dimensions must be 80 yards by 40 yards
- Kickoffs will be from the “kicking teams” 40-yard line and must have five players on each side of the kicker. Onside kicks ARE allowed.
- One coach is allowed on the field, in huddle-all season
- Football Size = PeeWee
- Ball Carrier Weight Limit Recommendation = 95 lbs.
***All teams will be formed with every attempt made to be balanced***
MPRB Fourth and Fifth Grade Rules
Fourth and Fifth Grade Rules:
- Game – Consists of four 15-minute running time quarters. ONLY the last two minutes of the second and fourth quarters are stop-time.
- Scoring:
- Touchdowns = 6 points
- Extra Points (1) = 3-yard line
- -Run or pass
- Extra Points (2) = 5-yard line
- *There are no restrictions for weight with extra point attempts. All players are eligible for to run/pass/catch the ball.
- Regulation playing field dimensions (100 yards)
- Kickoffs will be from the “kicking teams” 40-yard line and must have five players on each side of the kicker. Onside kicks ARE allowed.
- One coach is allowed on the field, in huddle-all season
- Football Size = Youth
- Ball Carrier Weight Limit Recommendation = 115 lbs

MPRB Sixth and Seventh Grade Rules
Sixth and Seventh Grade Rules:
Games are played by high school rules with the exception being the clock. 10-minute, stop time quarters are used. There are no offense or defensive restrictions of any kind in these leagues.
